Design Challenge:

Patrick Stein & Associates was asked to provide a design for a new building to complement an existing campus that already had three employee cafeterias we had previously designed. The new cafe would reside in the lower level of one of two identical two story buildings that would add and additional 1,700 employees. The cafe would operate as a satellite being serviced by a central kitchen we had designed in the 80’s a short distance away.

The solution was a branded cafe arranged in a ‘stagger line’ arrangement of 5,000 square feet with the two branded stations being a Starbucks Coffee Kiosk and a Panda Express. There were an additional five self service stations offering Salad, Soup, Dessert/Pastries, Grab and Go as well as Beverage. The entire operation was designed to serve product on disposable paper and plastic service. The back of the house Pantry was sized not only to support the cafe but to allow for catering functions within the two buildings.
