BONFANTE GARDENS THEME PARK

Gilroy, CA - opened 6/2001

Client:

Bonfante Gardens

Design Challenge:

Patrick Stein & Associates was asked to assist the owner and his food and beverage director create construction documents that reflected the menus developed for each of the seven different restaurant formats planned for the new theme park. In addition, assisted in developing a central commissary incorporating cook/chill technology to support the restaurants and a separate corporate picnic grounds venue that has at times served groups of 6,000 people.

The new park, tucked into the western hills of Gilroy California is a family friendly theme park where trees are the main focus. The main stars are 25 Circus Trees. Trees that, by using intricate grafting techniques, have been formed into intricate shapes such as the basket weave tree and the four trunk giant. The park offers 40 rides and attractions along with the 15,000 + trees, shrubs and flowers. The 28 acre park not only offers guests the ability to enjoy the different menu items of the seven restaurants but also incorporates a number of portable food carts that can be repositioned to address different crowd needs.
